Sorry for the lack of information in my first post. I was in a hurry when writing it, but now I have a bit more time:
- Version 1.5.1 differs from 1.5.0 in the internal name of php-gtk2. 1.5.0 was "php-gtk 2.0.0zeta", while 1.5.1 is "php-gtk 2.0.0alpha". The change was not planned and only needed, because "zeta" isn't recognized by php's version_compare() function, although it is a valid greek letter. In fact, version_compare() knows only alpha and beta from the greek alphabet. This lack of knowledge caused "2.0.0zeta" to be recognized as version *before* "2.0.0dev", which was the internal version before. This led to the consequence that *no* Gtk2-PEAR-package and *no* Gnope package could be installed anymore. Since breaking 30 packages is really bad, we decided to release a new php-gtk version instead of releasing 30 new packages.
Changes in the Gnope installer:
- Ships php 5.1.4
- I added some php extensions: gettext, socket, mysql, sqlite, pdo (+ mysql and sqlite pdo drivers)
- PEAR 1.4.9
- the latest packages from gnope
- Other PHP installations are detected and conflict resolutions tips are given
- Other PEAR installations are detected and deactivated if Gnope is installed.
- It is possible to install Gnope as administrator, and use it as normal user without admin rights now (finally) |
